Comets

I've had a couple of anonymous comments on a previous post about comets that I want to address. When I posted this in July of 2007, it was in response to a comment my brother in law made. He claimed that there is a comet heading toward earth and is going to hit in 2012. When I tried to research this, the only information I found was about a pastor claiming this to be true but providing no evidence.

Basically, the anonymous comments claimed that I had not done enough research. But, here's the way I look at it. If something is true, I shouldn't have to dig for the evidence. The pastor who made the claim did not provide any evidence. I went to the NASA website and found nothing. I'm sorry, but I'm not going to waste my life away looking for evidence that doesn't exist. If someone wants to say I didn't do enough research, provide me with some information that will bolster your case that there is a comet set to collide with earth in 2012.

I guess something hit a nerve with these people. That's a little ironic because my whole point on that post was that it is so sad that people will believe anything a pastor tells them.
